He is the left arm fast bowler of Pakistan. Wasim Akram holds the World Cricket record for most wicket taker in List-A Cricket, He has 881 Wickets. Akram was the one of the amazing reverse swing bowlers in the World. Wasim Akram was the first Cricket bowler to take 500 wickets in One Day International (ODI) Cricket in the period of 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Wasim Akram has two hat-tricks each in Test Cricket and ODIs. From 104 Test match Cricket Akram has won 17 man of the match awards and 22 man of the match awards in One Day International Cricket from 356 matches.
His Test Cricket debut was against New Zealand on 25 January 1985. Wasim Akram picked up 414 wickets from 104 matches for Pakistan. Akram has twenty five 5 wickets in innings and five 10 wickets in match in Test Cricket. He also a talented batsman of Pakistan, He has scored 2898 runs and his highest score in Test Cricket is 257* (* remained not out). Akram played his last Test Cricket match against Bangladesh on 9 January 2002.
On 23 November 1984, Wasim Akram played his first ODI (One Day International) Cricket against New Zealand. From 356 ODI matches he took 502 wickets for Pakistan. 86 is the highest score of Akram in ODI. He has 3717 runs in ODI Cricket. On 1 March 2003, Akram retired from One Day International Cricket, He played his last ODI against India.
